It...I'm surprised this one didn't get any comments. It's got some really good imagery and it creeped me out. <BR/><BR/>However, it does have a very familiar feeling to it--like stories that start with people waking up, there are also too many that start with the kid in front of the haunted house. <BR/><BR/>I'm not sure this scene is the beginning of the story. I'd like a little more backstory, a little more interaction with the bully, etc. before standing the boy on the porch. This might be the end of the first chapter.<BR/><BR/>But for setting the mood, particularly for a middle reader, this wasn't bad.
