As a writer, you're just too close to your own work to see the holes.

Great post.Annette Lyonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12493583432919249814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25573541.post-5602105468328497872008-03-21T21:15:00.000-06:002008-03-21T21:15:00.000-06:00That was really well put Tristi, thanks! When a writer learns to sift through the jealous comments and finds those truly meant to help, then good stuff starts to happen. I know I've made changes in my books that have been for the best- things that, on my own, I never would have realized needed changing.

Great blog!
Nancy AllenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25573541.post-60241256085166113822008-03-19T11:35:00.000-06:002008-03-19T11:35:00.000-06:00Well said, Tristi. While I don't agree with everything they tell me, I admit that they've helped me hoe a much better novel than I had when I began working with these people. I've even had to revise entire sections of the book when they pointed out some fatal flaws. I've had to develop a thick skin, but I've never gotten upset or resentful.Paul W. Even though I don't always follow their suggestions precisely, I can at least recognize that they have found a flaw in my writing that I need to fix. After all, without editors, those of us who write aren't likely to improve in our craft.Traci Hunter Abramsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06166775097044986075noreply@blogger.com
