(If you want to see how the voting breaks down, click on the poll in each genre post and it should take you to a page showing the percentages.
Although I originally said I'd add my favorites to this list, I decided to only list the ones that won the votes. Only two of my favorites actually made the cut. When the voting is all done, I'll post comments on each of the genres, stating what I liked and why.
So, without further ado, here they are (in alphabetical order by title):
Sun Tunnels and Secrets by Carole Thayne Warburton
Publisher: Walnut Springs
Category: General/Women's
The Widower's Wife by Prudence Bice
Publisher: Cedar Fort
Category: Historical
Publisher: Walnut Springs
Category: General/Women's
The Widower's Wife by Prudence Bice
Publisher: Cedar Fort
Category: Historical
In this poll, you may vote for two. Vote through midnight, Sunday, January 9th. I'll post the winner on Monday.

I'm a graphic designer and I'm very surprised that Sun Tunnels and Secrets won the general/women's section. It looks like it came from 1992. I wouldn't pick this up from the shelf...I wouldn't even look at it. The picture is intriguing but that doesn't make it an intriguing cover. Plus the type is stretched which is one of the worst things you could ever do to type. It looks very self published to me. The colors, typography, and balance are all wrong.
I'm also surprised by Queen In Exile. It's not balanced and the colors are off. And it also looks self published. That's all. :)

I hear ya.....
I'm with you, Dustin.
Someone must be stacking the votes if Sun Tunnels and Secrets is winning.
I'm a graphic designer too. The General and Historical categories were the weakest over all, in my opinion.
I agree that Sun Tunnels isn't my favorite, but I can see why it was one of the 5 original choices in that genre. There just weren't as many to choose from.
Sun Tunnels isn't a great cover, but the others in that category are worse. Most of the selections in all categories did nothing for me. I personally do not like the cartoony looking covers and wouldn't pick up those books unless I need to consider the book for review or am already familiar with the author. There were few really good covers this past year and one of the best, Silence of God, didn't even make it into the competition.
