I would totally be writing a post for today except that I'm off to find a new dress for the Whitney Awards Banquet.
Which one do you think I should go with:
I thought it went without saying, but apparently not. ALL of these gowns will be altered to fit LDS standards—longer sleeves, higher neck, a little looser in certain areas...

If it were me, I'd go with a business suit because I'm clutzy and would probably trip over gowns like those. :)
Are you saying that if we pick we might actually be able to identify you by what you wear?
If that's the case I might just change my mind about going.
.
You canNOT be seen in any gown already worn this season. I can't believe you haven't already retained a designer. I'm afraid you might not get this done in time.....
I think you should try this one:

Sandra Bullock's, definitely.
I'd say none of them. None of them can hide your temple garments.
Anon 1: LOVE IT!!
Anon 2: I added a note to the post, just for you. :)
Ummmm.... I know this is a joking post but I have a question. I am planning to go to the banquet but I have no formal wear, and frankly no funds or time to get something new. (Savers/DI option=not enough time). Can I just wear a Sunday dress?
Well, it did snow last night and is rather cold today, so I would recommend a nice warm shawl over which ever dress you pick. You can never go wrong with black :) Have a great time!
The first one definitely!
last annon - most people wear Sunday dress.
Thanks for a big grin. Personally, I think you should wear a tie-dye maxi dress. You know, the Judy Collins/Joan Baez 1970s look...
Sadly, I will NOT be at the banquet to turn green with jealousy when Jamie Ford gets the prize my book was nominated for. Wisconsin's just a wee bit too far away... Think of all of us out in the hinterlands while you're living the elegant life at... the Whitneys...
Thanks, Janice. :-)--wardrobe-challenged anon.
I say you'd look very out of place at an LDS event and I'm also wondering how you finaged two votes.
I think one with your own style is best. Just so you feel comfortable.
Lyle--two votes on what? The dress? Huh?
You wore the black one, huh? I knew it was you. I wanted to give you my ms to edit, (you do that for free, right?), but you flitted off too fast (I'm glad you didn't trip over that long ruffly skirt). Well, next year I'll catch you and I'll still have the same ms for you to edit.
